Segway® Water Challenge

For the first time ever, Mercy Relief (MR), in partnership with Gogreen Holdings, organised the Segway® Water Challenge, a charity event to celebrate World Water Day. Held at Sentosa on 22 March 2015, the Singaporean NGO challenged the general public to take on a fun and electrifying multi-station game course while riding on Segway® Personal Transporters (PTs). Participants maneuvered around obstacles and raced down the track with their friends while balancing on the eco-friendly two-wheeled vehicles.

The event was fueled by a worthy cause — to raise awareness on the importance of access to clean water on disaster-stricken areas. Participants also had the chance to hop on MR’s very own pedal-powered water filtration system, PedalPure, and experienced first-hand how dirty water was converted into clean drinking water.

The Mercy Relief Segway® Water Challenge promised to be a fun-filled event with plenty of exciting activities for the whole family. As part of the campaign, various teasers and a 30-sec TVC was shot on-site to promote the race, shown throughout Singapore’s Central Business District and various social media platforms. Proceeds from the Segway® Water Challenge helped to support Mercy Relief’s vital humanitarian work.
